On XX/XX/2023 at XXXX XXXX I attempted to log into the TransUnion online portal. I couldn't recall my log in information so I went through their process of verifying myself with my social security number as well as answering their security questions. Having successfully answered them I still received a message stating that their online portal could not verify me and I had to call customer service. I learned from the agent ( XXXX XXXX ) that my user name was not my email, transunion should have been able to send me my username without the burden of having to call them and go through several minutes of waiting to get to speak to someone. Then when I attempted to submit my dispute online I could not, it said I had to call. Since I was one the phone with the representative I asked about that and told her I have all the correspondence here and that the issue was an issue affecting my Federal Rights to housing, their inaccurate information was denying me housing, over an issue that was inaccurately reported on my account. The representative told me I had to mail my dispute I could not fax or email it and when I asked to be transferred to a manager she stated she could not transfer me to anyone I'd have to call back. It was extremely frustrating and I recalled going through that about a year ago when I contacted every other credit agency about the dispute and they removed it from my credit, TransUnion was the only one not to. After really taking my frustrations out about this with the representative and requesting a call back from a manager, then later I discovered I could finally submit my dispute online. I feel they intentionally make it extremely difficult for the consumers to dispute the information on their reports, which causes huge impacts to individuals lives like this one for example denying me for housing even though my credit rating is over 800, because of a fraudulent landlord who claimed I owed money I did not and put me into collections, instead of taking me to court and following legal action where I could have proven my case, I've been negatively affected with an adverse action which denied me housing, there are federal laws against that. TransUnion needs to stop making it nearly impossible for consumers to dispute false claims on their reports and allow consumers to use their online portal to dispute transactions.
