I voluntarily surrendered my vehicle in XXXX of XXXX because I was unable to make payments. My creditor was XXXX XXXX. I knew I would owe them the balance that was left after they sold my car at auction. But I never heard from them other than getting a notice that my car was sold and the remaining balance. Fast forward to XXXX of XXXX I get a knock on my door from my local sheriffs office with a warrant in debt summons from a company named Autovest LLC. I have never heard from this company until getting this summons paperwork. My complaint is regarding their business practices. Right when covid was over they have done this to many people from what I have read. They bought the bad debt for XXXX on the XXXX and going straight to civil court with no communication in between. It may have been legal, but doesn't make it right. Especially right after Covid and did not even give me the chance to discuss this with them outside the court room.
