I had cancelled my cable service provider in XX/XX/2022. As far I knew, I was caught up bill-wise with them. I then received subsequent charges for after the service was cancelled, as well as being charged for contract termination ( there was no contract ). A couple of months later, I started receiving calls from the collection agency, and received a letter in early XXXX saying they are demanding a total amount ofXXXX ( image attached ). This was simply NOT right! On the bottom was a response form, which per the top, indicated I could respond that I am disputing the amount. I chose that option, and sent the completed form to them on XX/XX/2022. Even though I sent in the notice of dispute, a few weeks later I saw on my credit report that the collection agency had posted that debt on my credit, thereby lowering my overall credit score. I was upset, as I had obliged by their requests, and yet they STILL hit my credit. Not having heard anything from the company, I then sent a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX of this year ( also attached ), letting them know that I was upset they had hurt my credit without even contacting me to resolve this. As of yet, I STILL have heard nothing from this company ( it's now XX/XX/XXXX ). I'm not sure what this company 's " deal '' is, but I know they have harmed my credit by posting an erroneous collection on my credit report ( which I thought would at least be delayed after sending them my original response, since it was incorrect ). Between that and their complete lack of response, I can only question the legitimacy of this so-called business.
