I moved from XXXX to XXXX NM and had paid all my final bills shortly after moving in XXXX. I had all my mail forwarded to my new residence. I had not received any more bills from the XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX after moving. In fact, I called them to make sure the account was disconnected and everything was paid up. I was assured by the company everything was good. On XX/XX/2023, I received a bill from XXXX for {$34.00}, stating they were going to send my bill to collections. I was surprised to see this, but quickly sent a check on XX/XX/2023. I checked my bank statement dated XX/XX/2023 and saw they cashed the check. On XX/XX/2023, I received a letter from Diversified Adjustment Service, Inc a debt collector, claiming I had not paid the debt. This kind of incompetence is infuriating.
