On XX/XX/2020 I agreed to purchase a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX through XXXX XXXX. I was able to finance the vehicle for a purchase price of {$9700.00} through a company known as XXXX XXXX. I made my payments monthly to XXXX XXXX at a rate of XXXX XXXX. In total, I have paid {$110000.00} on the vehicle. At some point XXXX XXXX went bankrupt and sent the remainder of the interest payments to Westlake Portfolio Management with no notice. I did not sign any agreement with Westlake Portfolio Management, nor did I know it was a debt collector. I continued making payments on the vehicle up until last month. The vehicle is unable to function due to a part that has been discontinued by XXXX ( part number XXXX ). Without the part, the vehicle has been deemed unsafe to drive. I would like to settle out this account with the amount that has been paid on it, as I have already paid {$2000.00} in interest for a non-functioning vehicle. The company refuses to settle, so I would like to dispute the charge as I do not have a legally binding agreement with Westlake Portfolio Management. Please advise on how I should proceed.
