I was unaware of a debt until it showed up as a negative report on my credit report. My apartment complex that the debt it supposedly owed to never told us the debt was owed ( {$700.00} ) after moving out or told us when it needed to be paid by. We moved out in XX/XX/2022. Around 5 months later I had not received any notice from the apartment complex the amount was due and was going to be sent to collections. The first I found out about the debt was around XX/XX/2022 when I got a negative report on my credit report as it had been sent to a debt collector. I had not received any type of written notice about the debt being with a debt collector or given the ability to dispute the debt. I still have not heard anything from the debt collector in written form or by phone or email. It has been over a year since I moved out of the apartment. It has now been sent to collections and has greatly impacted my credit score.
