On XX/XX/XXXX I received a notice from our appraisal district stating that our XXXX Property Taxes were not payed. On this notice it stated that added interest had started accruing in XXXX on top of the original amount that was not payed. This was the first letter I had received from the appraisal district notifying me that the property taxes had not been payed In XXXX of XXXX. This is a new home that we bought in XX/XX/XXXX. In closing we set up an Escrow account with XXXX Mortgage and put down a payment of {$1500.00} towards escrow. When the account was set up we started paying towards the escrow account monthly starting in XXXX when the first payment was due for the house. I have been dealing with XXXX customer service for a month now trying to get this issue resolved. I sent them the notice I received in the mail as well as the XXXX tax statement that we received in the mail stating what our XXXX property taxes amount owed and it states at the bottom of the statement, please do not pay original has been sent to mortgage company and it has the mortgage companys name and mailing address. For 3 weeks now customer service stated that they were at fault and they will be sending a check to the appraisal district with the added fees, and that I am not responsible for the added fees. I called customer service again on Friday XX/XX/XXXX, because I saw that a Tax Penalty was added to my account online for {$730.00} that was taken out of my escrow account. The customer service person stated that she will be putting in a work order to have that removed because they are responsible for the added fees and to call back next week to make sure it was resolved. I called XX/XX/XXXX to check on the status and I was told that now I am responsible for the added fees and I will be receiving a notice in the mail stating the reason why. I was also told that the original payment for the XXXX property tax amount was my responsibility and not theirs and that is why I am at fault. As of my statement on XX/XX/XXXX my escrow account balance is now - {$1800.00}. I also see on my online account that on XX/XX/XXXX a check was sent to me at an address that does not exist for {$3800.00}. I tried resolving this issue as well because now I dont know where that money is and can not get a straight answer. I still do not know if the mortgage company has sent a check to the appraisal district.
