This is the 4th CFPB complaint filed. The previous 3 complaints resulted with Equifax agreeing to remove the fraudulent, unauthorized hard inquiry but the inquiry is still there as of XX/XX/XXXX. Equifax has not removed a hard inquiry from XXXX XXXX XXXX received on my credit report on XX/XX/XXXX. Ive provided supporting documentation that proves that the hard inquiry was unauthorized and a fraud attempt to obtain a line of credit under my Social Security number including a letter directly from XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX , acknowledging the fraudulent activity. Ive attached a letter from the bank also confirming that the hard inquiry was unauthorized and should be removed from all three credit bureaus. Equifax is the only bureau that acknowledged the inquiry was fraudulent but still has not removed the fraudulent inquiry from my credit report. I have been submitting disputes every day on the Equifax website for this hard inquiry ever since it was reported on XX/XX/XXXX, but the results from my dispute is closed within hours, which leads me to believe no actual investigation was done regarding the fraudulent inquiry. I immediately initiated a fraud alert, and a credit freeze at all three credit bureaus due to this fraudulent attempt with my social security number and Equifax needs to remove this fraudulent hard inquiry from XXXX XXXX XXXX dated XX/XX/XXXX from my credit report. Equifax confirmed in the prior 3 CFPB complaint that the hard inquiry was fraudulent and deleted but the inquiry in still on my Equifax credit report and was not removed.
