Under 15 U.S.C. 1681i ( a ) ( 1 ) ( a ), it is mandated that upon receiving a dispute, each consumer reporting agency must conduct a free reinvestigation, accurately record the current status of the disputed information, or remove the item from the file within 30 days. This timeframe commenced on the date the dispute was received, and unless the account is deemed frivolous or irrelevant, there has been no indication that my dispute falls under these categories.
