Starting XXXX, I began the application process for forbearance or assistance with Ameris Bank. Over the course of 6 months, my application process was stalled due to lack of communication and follow through with the mortgage company. In XX/XX/2023, I was finally notified that my supporting documents werent submitted in time, even though they were promptly submitted to the online portal, because the portal doesnt really work well and we cant see your documents on our end so they werent accepted. I was then directed to email my personal information to an obscure email address to submit properly. XX/XX/2023 my application was finally completed ( 6 months after the start ). Since the application was finally submitted, I have not gotten any response or update from the mortgage company. I believe that Ameris is intentionally making the assistance process difficult, knowing that if I were to have my home foreclosed on would benefit them financially. It is highly unethical that this company benefits from countless tax breaks and government subsidies, but does the exact bare minimum when it comes to following through on their obligations to the people that are the source of their vast wealth. Attached are screenshots showing the regular update and submission of materials on my end, and the stagnant response on theirs.
