On XX/XX/XXXX, I discovered that a collection account was posted by Waypoint Resource Group ( Waypoint ) to my XXXX and XXXX consumer credit reports ( Enclosures 7 and 8 : Account number XXXX ). The reports indicated that the amount owed was {$140.00}, and that the original creditor is XXXX. To date, I have yet to receive a letter from Waypoint regarding this collection account. However, based on the information ( amount and original creditor ) provided by Waypoint to XXXX and XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, this debt is not mine. The amount and original creditor are the same as those submitted by XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) to the three credit bureaus in XXXX. Together, the XXXX credit reports indicated that the last payment made to the XXXX account was XX/XX/XXXX ; that the date of first delinquency was XX/XX/XXXX ; that there was an account review inquiry to XXXX by XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX ; and that the collection account was opened on XX/XX/XXXX ( see attached supporting documentation Enclosures 4, 5, and 6 ). While I previously had an account with XXXX, that account was closed in XXXX of XXXX. That account was also in good standing at the time of closure. All fees had been paid as the account was set on credit card autopay, including a close-out payment of {$18.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, and all equipment returned ( see attached supporting documentation Enclosures 1, 2, and 3 ). Since closing my XXXX account in XXXX, I have not opened another account with XXXX, and am not the person who made the XX/XX/XXXX payment to the XXXX account in collection. On XX/XX/XXXX, I submitted disputes regarding the collection account referenced above to all three credit bureaus via certified mail. I also filed complaints against XXXX and all three credit bureaus with CFPB on XX/XX/XXXX ( Complaint XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX ), which ultimately resulted in removal of that collection account. I am submitting this complaint directly to CFPB to address potential violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and refraining from submitting any communication to the collector ( Waypoint Reource Group ) independently out of concerns for my privacy. As a physician supporting public health responses in Oregon, this matter is distracting my attention and time from serving Oregonians. I would, therefore, greatly appreciate the CFPBs assistance in resolving this matter expeditiously.
