On XX/XX/2023 i applied for a credit card. With a soft credit check i was approved. Once i was approved i authorized a hard check. I have an alert for fraud due to past activity on my name. AVANT Credit card companny then cane back and said due to the alert on my file they were unable to verify my identity and i was denied due to my email address. They never tried contacting me for more information. They never attempted to rectify this in any way and there was no reason for the denial other then a fraud alert. Denial of a credit account based on an alert placed by me to prevent fraud is a violation of the fair credit act. I advised them of this... i also advised if they cant veeify my identity, then who is to say XXXX XXXX initiated the Hard or Soft Credit check at all. Who is to say XXXX XXXX even applied for the card. The credit card waa denied since they said they couldnt verify my identity. They say they wont remove the hard credit check because they know " XXXX XXXX '' is the one who initiated the credit card request. However their denial states i was denied since they could not verify that " XXXX XXXX '' applied. Your denial must match the reason for the hard credit check. You cant have an approval and denial for the same thing.
