Debt from our timeshare company, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, was sent to Meridian to collect. We sent a cease and desist to them and they confirmed receipt of it ( confirmed by XXXX on XX/XX/2023 ), but they kept attacking our credit. We reached out to them again on XX/XX/2023 to see if a settlement option was available to stop collections and close our account with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. At that time, we spoke with XXXX again, they informed us the settlement amount would be {$12000.00} and a letter was sent by XXXX, our account manager, confirming that amount. We followed up on XX/XX/2023 and spoke with XXXX, who informed us the lowest settlement they would offer is $ XXXXWe requested this be emailed to us and she stated it would have to be sent via postal mail since we did not lift our cease and desist and only authorized. Well, at no point did we lift our cease and desist ( we wanted a reasonable settlement amount before opening communication with them ), but XXXX has incessantly called XXXX and myself since. This is a violation of the cease and desist we sent, and frankly, we do not want any dealings with Meridian as they can not assist us and we never agreed to work with them. We need to resolve this matter with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX directly, especially if the settlement amount can not be lowered to our request of {$2500.00}.
