I got scammed by a person posing as XXXX customer service and said they were processing my refund. I called a phone number that came up as XXXX support a looked legitimate. They screen shared and accessed my Venmo account to do some weird transactions through bitcoin. I hen I realized what was going on I hung up and they called back and tried to get information. I hung up and called my bank and froze my accounts. I have since received emails from Venmo saying I owe them money. Some seem like scams while others are legitimate. I called Venmo and they said I have a negative balance with them and the only way I can clear it is to give them my new bank account information. I refuse to give them any financial information as they are not a secure site and I had to close accounts Ive had for decades. I offered a cashiers check and they say the only way I can pay them ( I dont believe I owe them any money ) is by linking my new bank account or getting someone else to fill my Venmo account. Neither of those seem legitimate.
