Consumer Narrative
I had to take out a Private Student Loan with Sallie Mae, because I did not qualify for a Federal Student Loan. I XXXX in XXXX of 2022, and was married that month as well. They will not help with lowering interest rates, or lowing the monthly payments. I had called and disputed as well as my husband. Our monthly payment is {$770.00} a month for 15 years. I just started working as an XXXX XXXX. They said there was nothing they could do to lower it or help us out. I had discussed this with our accountant for tax reasons, and he then explained that Sallie Mae is a loan shark company. There is no way we can afford that monthly payment.
