On XX/XX/2023 I received an invitation to check my rate for a loan and was told it would not affect my credit score. They told me in order to do the soft inquiry I would need to unlock my credit report. I unlocked my report like I was asked to do and received a call from them verifying my identity because I have a fraud alert on my file. They told me that they were not able to provide the quote and that I would get a letter in the mail. Upon examining my credit report today I noticed that I have a hard inquiry from them. I was mislead by the organization who insured me there would be no hard inquiry and my score would not be affected. I am writing to request the removal of unauthorized credit inquiry on my XXXX and XXXX credit reports. My latest credit report shows 1 credit inquiry that I did not authorize. I am writing to dispute the following inquiry and ask for their removal from my credit report. Item 1. XX/XX/2023 Inquiry OPORTUN/PROGRESO FINANCI XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, TX XXXX XXXX Please have these unapproved inquiries removed from my credit report within 30 days, as it is harming my ability to obtain new credit. I would appreciate a copy of my credit report once this issue is resolved.
