Consumer Narrative
On XX/XX/XXXX I filed an FTC identity theft report on a few accounts and information which were on my credit report. On this same day, I mailed a copy of this identity theft report to Transunion via certified mail requesting the information be taken off within 4 business days of their receipt of this report ( Per 15 USC 1681c-2 ). Verified via certified mail they received this report on XX/XX/XXXX. They claimed that this letter which was handwritten by me with my finger print was deemed as not being sent by me and so they would not investigate it. This letter also included copies of my Drivers License, Social Security Card, and utility bill. ( See attachment labeled IdentityTheftLetter1 for the letter I sent them ) ( See attachment labeled ProofTUClaimedNotAuthorizedSender for proof of their false claim ). I called them several times and each time they simply insisted that they deemed it to be an unauthorized sender. So I submitted a CFPB complaint in response to Transunion making this false claim. ( See attachment CFPBComplaint XXXX ). XXXX and XXXX both deleted these items from my credit report as they should, but for some reason Transunion refused to do what theyre supposed to. ( see attachments XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX On XX/XX/XXXX I mailed my identity theft report ( see attachment IdentityTheftLetter2 and IdentityTheftLetter2 ( 2 ) ) to Transunion once again in an effort to have these fraudulent items deleted. On this very same day, right after returning from the post office, Transunion deleted the items in response to the first identity theft report that I sent them ( which they had previously claimed was not being sent by an authorized party ). I called them and asked for a written letter confirming that these items were deleted from my report and they refused to provide this to me. Soon after these deletions, they re-inserted a charged off account ( XXXX XXXX ) stating that this account was verified as accurate. ( See attachment Reinsertion ). I wrote a CFPB complaint in response to this reinsertion ( see attachment CFPBComplaint XXXX ) When speaking with a Transunion supervisor on XX/XX/XXXX he claimed that there never any deletion of any accounts whatsoever in response to my identity theft reports. However, if you view attachment CreditReportXXXX ( all fraudulent items on ) you will see that the accounts I disputed as fraudulent are all on there. Now view attachment Credit report XXXX ( only 1 fraud account remaining on ( XXXX ) ) you will see that every disputed account was removed except for the reinserted XXXX account. And attachment reinsertion is CLEAR evidence that they did in fact delete these items however this Transunion supervisor clearly lied to me about this. If you view attachment RequestForProperValidation you will see that on XX/XX/XXXX I mailed Transunion a letter requesting for them to demonstrate their proper and legal validation of this supposed debt. In response to my request for proper validation, Transunion completely ignored every single legal obligation they have and responded with an automated letter claiming the debt as verified and accurate without providing ANY proper validation ( see attachment XXXX Dispute results ). On XX/XX/XXXX I filed another identity theft report on this XXXX XXXX ( see attachment ID theft report XXXX ) and I mailed this identity theft report to Transunion on the same day ( see attachment TransunionIdentityTheftLetter3 ). In addition to being fraudulent altogether, this account is a charged off account. A charge off is considered as taxable income which can not be be reported on a consumer credit report ( per USC 166 ). Furthermore, there are discrepancies with Transunions reporting of the payments on this account. See below : In the attachment titled Discrepancy4 from XX/XX/XXXX you will see that Transunion didnt even have any reported delinquencies. And under each month it is Not Reported. In the attachment titled Discrepancy3 from XX/XX/XXXX Transunion reports : XX/XX/XXXX : 60 days late XX/XX/XXXX : 90 days late XX/XX/XXXX : 120 days late In the attachment titled Discrepancy2 from XX/XX/XXXX Transunion reports : XX/XX/XXXX : 30 days late XX/XX/XXXX : 60 days late XX/XX/XXXX : 90 days late In the attachment titled XXXX from XX/XX/XXXX Transunion reports : XX/XX/XXXX : 60 days late XX/XX/XXXX : 90 days late XX/XX/XXXX : 120 days late Transunion doesnt even have accurate reporting of this fraudulent account. This alone is grounds for removal of this account completely even disregarding the fraud. Transunion is reporting this information without my written expressed consent ( per USC 1681b ). I have called Transunion many times about this fraudulent account and gotten nowhere. I have written several letters, made several complaints. Many hours of my time, my energy, and my mental and emotional bandwidth have been taken due to Transunion. Transunion is directly harming me as a consumer. My reputation, my XXXX XXXX my XXXX XXXX and my financial health have all been severely impacted because of Transunion. I am seeking simply the correct information to report on my consumer credit report. That is all. Please thoroughly investigate each piece of attached supporting documents and correct what should have been corrected long ago. This has been over 2 months now and it is time to correct this information.
