Debt collection agency, Hunter Warfield Inc., filed a derogatory collection statement to Credit Report Agencies ( XXXX and XXXX ) for a debt that is not mine. I received no notice from Hunter Warfield of this. The debt was owed by my brother-in-law to his landlord, XXXX XXXX XXXX, in XXXX, XXXX, for unpaid rent. I was a guarantor of the rent for his 1st year, but the unpaid rent was owed after he renewed without my guarantee. I received no collection attempt from the Landlord, since I clearly had zero responsibility. Hunter Warfield apparently acquired the debt from the Landlord and likewise did not contact me for any collection attempt. Only contact was its filing to the Credit Report Agencies. I have filed disputes with each of XXXX and XXXX on this. But i would also like to submit this complaint to CFPB against Hunter Warfield directly.
