I received an alert from XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX on XXXXXXXX XXXX,2023 that I opened a new account and it affected my credit score. I checked and saw that a credit card was issued by Fortiva without my consent. I already had retail credit with Fortiva for my XXXXXXXX XXXX for my home ( not my choice-this was the creditor I had to use when I set up XXXXXXXX XXXX for my home ). I never applied for a credit card with Fortiva. I did receive many emails offering a credit card by Fortiva but I never responded to their offers. I always ignored the emails unless it was the emails letting me know that my monthly charge for the XXXX account was being automatically deducted from my bank account. I did call Fortiva right away and then know what they did was not right and it has terribly affected my credit score. The rep knew how upset I was from letting him know that I never consented or approved them opening a major credit card. He apologized and closed the credit card account and told me to shred the card when it arrives. The Card arrived the next day on XXXX XXXX2023 so I shredded as advised. This has greatly damaged my credit score which I spent years getting to the excellent status it has been before this incident.
