Consumer Narrative
The most recent letters that I have sent to Equifax disputing the inaccurate information on my credit report were sent on XX/XX/2023 and XX/XX/2023. Instead of removing or even responding to the inaccurate personal information and accounts ( that I have been disputing inaccuracies for over months ), they repeatedly send me letters to STALL by stating they need XXXXwo documents for identification and current address. Here 's where the biggest problem is and COMPLETE violation of my rights. Every single letter I have sent to Equifax includes my Driver 's License for identification and Current Address, my Social Security Card for another form of identification, and a utility bill for another proof of address! I send THREE forms of documents WITH my letters to Equifax. Yet, their response to me is " Please return this letter along with the requested information and your original correspondence/request to the address below ''. WHY would I need to send in the same documents that were included in my original letters? Please see the attached letters sent to Equifax WHICH CONTAIN the identification and current address documents that they state that they need in order to " process without delay ''. Equifax is clearly operating ILLEGALLY. They continue to stall. Please see two letters sent by Equifax attached sent to me one day apart. They send multiples of these letters even though the documents they are requesting was included in ALL of my letters to them!! Equifax needs to remove the inaccurate information immediately. After multiple dispute letters to Equifax, I have received no resolution. They are in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. I demand that Equifax take immediate action to correct the inaccurate information on my credit report and provide me with a prompt resolution to my disputes. Failure to do so will result in legal action being taken against your company for violating consumer protection laws. Failure to comply with these federal regulations by credit reporting agencies are investigated by the Federal Trade Commission ( see 15 USC 41, et seq. ). I am maintaining a careful record of my communications with you on this matter, for the purpose of filing a complaint with the FTC should you continue in your non-compliance. I further remind you that, as in Wenger v Trans Union Corp., No. 95-6445 ( C.D.Cal. Nov. 14,1995 ), you may be liable for you willful non-compliance. For the record, I am attaching the two most recent letters sent to you on separate occasions. Items in the letters need to be removed. It has been over 6 months of me disputing this inaccurate information. It is illegal for them still to be on my credit report! It is illegal for you to keep stalling!
