XX/XX/ I received emails and text messages referencing a checking account with Capital One that was fraudulently opened under my maiden name. I called Capital One to close the account on XXXX XXXX and was told I successfully closed the account and would receive a letter confirming that within 10 days. I also mailed a letter on XX/XX/ to Capital Ones fraud department to reiterate the closure of that account. I have not received any confirmation that the account was closed and on XXXX received another email from capital one that I needed to sign into my account to complete setting up my account or it would be closed. This indicates that the account was never closed
