On XX/XX/2023, I was browsing around looking for furniture. I came across Conn 's Home Plus website and was greeted with a popup promotion stating I could be approved for monthly payments after putting in my information and if approved and can make my purchase within 60 minutes, I will receive a FREE delivery. I hurried and filled out the form and was approved for a credit limit of {$1600.00} to use in-store. After choosing the item I wanted, I was taken to the checkout page and was given the option of how I wanted to pay one of the options was Conn 's Home Plus Financing that I was approved for. Before signing up, I also added the lease-to-own option with NO credit check. Once I got to the checkout and clicked on Conn 's Home Plus Financing option, I was taken to another site called XXXX XXXX XXXX and was asked to put in my social security number, date of birth, and my cell phone number which I couldn't understand. So I stopped the application and called conn 's support to find out what was going on and as I was explaining to the man what had happened, he ask for the last four of my social security number and date of birth and explained that I had been denied and I will receive a letter in the mail, I asked how could that be because when I was signing up, it said no credit check. The man said well it was one done on me and I told him without my consent and false advertisement. He said sir you will receive a letter in the mail, I asked how could Conn 's run a credit check on me without my permission. The man than hanged up the phone.
