Consumer Narrative
A process server from sheriff 's department came to my house and handed me wage garnishment documents asking to garnish wages of my employee. My company ( that I own, registered, and dissolved years ago ) is listed as the employer being ordered to garnish wages to myself as the employee. I have no knowledge of this debt nor did it make sense to be asking my dissolved company to garnish wages from myself. I have never received nor heard of Unifund until receiving this letter. This isn't even showing up in my credit report. I contacted the lawyer representing Unifund ( XXXX XXXX ) and the account representative was not able to locate the amount in question nor did it show there is a wage garnishment in process. The only thing they can see is a debt I had settled years ago where account balance is {$0.00} and is ilisted in good standing with XXXX XXXX when I closed it.
