Consumer Narrative

The company refuses to handle my fraud claim. I had told the D ispute Department right before I filed the claim that this was a fraud claim, and although they told me I needed to fill out a dispute form to complete the dispute process, they did not tell me I was unable to file a fraud claim. Instead they started the claim process on their end, and even provided me with a dispute case number. That right there says Im able to. Additionally, The Electronic Fund Transfer Act ( EFTA ), is a federal law that protects consumers against fraud and account errors. The EFTA grants consumers the right to dispute transactions and establishing consumers liability for unauthorized transactions. Some examples of unauthorized transactions include a debit card gets stolen and is used by the thief to make a purchase. Last by certainly not least, right on Visa 's website it states, " Visa 's Zero Liability Policy* is our guarantee that you won't be held responsible for unauthorized charges made with your account or account information. You're protected if your Visa credit or debit card is lost, stolen or fraudulently used, online or offline. * Visas Zero Liability Policy does not apply to certain commercial card and anonymous prepaid card transactions or transactions not processed by Visa. Cardholders must use care in protecting their card and notify their issuing financial institution immediately of any unauthorized use. Contact your issuer for more detail. Visa 's Zero Liability Policy requires issuers to replace funds taken from your account as the result of an unauthorized credit or debit transaction within five business days of notification. '' ... XXXX XXXX XXXX I relayed this information to the company, and they chose to ignore it. If this does not get settled in the hands of the CFPB, a small claims suit will be filed in the near future.
