After hurricane Ian in Florida, I have been offered help from Loan Depot Mortgage Company, stated that due to hurricane you can request help up to 3 months forbearance by phone call. After the three months they supposed to do evaluation and may add 3 months forbearance at the end of the mortgage term. And they requested from me to make sure I start making my payments after forbearance terms finished. As we got agreed that after the forbearance period, which was for XXXX, XXXX and XX/XX/2023. I did my payments on XXXX XXXX as we agreed. After I started receiving letters and calls saying that I am behind for my payments many times. I told them exactly what we were agreed to ; Loan Depot may put all forbearance period by the end of the mortgage terms, but before that they need to make an evaluation about my financial situation ; and as we got agreed that I started making my payments. Before they do any evaluation for my economic situation suddenly, I received an alert from credit agencies that Loan Depot reported as missing payment without mentioning about disaster forbearance and did dramatic damage on my credit report unethically. I sent them an e mail and wrote them this treatment is very unacceptable for hurricane victims. They are not following the terms that they mentioned after hurricane IAN. Never got any response from them.
