Received notice from Harris and Harris dated XX/XX/2023 regarding a non valid debt from the Washington, DC XXXX XXXX XXXX. The notice from Harris and Harris did not include debt collection rights including language that states : If you dont dispute the debt within 30 days the debt collector will assume the debt is valid ; If you do dispute the debt in writing within 30 days the debt collector must stop collection until it provides you verification of the debt ; and If you request the name and address of the original creditor ( if different from the current creditor ) within 30 days, the debt collector will provide you that information. In addition, this debt is not a valid debt since Washington DC has no legal authority to collect on automatic traffic enforcement fines from non-residents because there is no reciprocity agreement as required by law. This has been confirmed by the Mayor of Washington DC and has been reported in the news. A letter was sent to Harris and Harris on XX/XX/XXXX informing them of this and to stop contacting me, but they have attempted to contact me by phone at my work 7 times after they received the letter. I have all the voice messages and logs of the phone calls.
