Consumer Narrative
On XX/XX/2022, I sent affirm a dispute letter in regards to all of the loans I had open at the time. I had never been given proper notice of the loan contracts until I thoroughly read through the agreement/contract and saw significant errors and violations within those agreements. One particular section, the promise to pay, stood out the most. I explained to Affirm that the loans were already prepaid and them collecting on any payments further is fraudulent. The term finance charge defined by Congress in 15 USC 1605, clearly states that it is the sum of ALL charges. It also further states that within a consumer credit transaction, cash payments shouldn't be involved within a credit transaction. Yet, Affirm is collecting twice the amount of payments on every loan. I will attach the letter ( s ) I have sent to Affirm. They never replied back via mail but they did reply via email and all the customer representatives kept referring back to was the loan agreement. Their agreement does not supersede any federal law. Affirm willingly and knowingly chooses to violate and deceive consumers into thinking they owe something they really don't. I would like all of my money back from every single loan that I have ever paid for, I would like for all of the loans that Affirm decided to charge off be updated as paid in full, and for them to update any credit reporting agency they reflected these negative items on to be updated as well and removed from my report. Per the IRS, a charge is considered income and it is illegal to report that on a consumer report anyway.
