On XX/XX/2021 I inquired about the cost of a new roof for a home I was wanting to buy in XXXX XXXX, FL. The roof had to be replaced before insurance would accept it. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX and the sent a " drone '' over the home and gave me an estimate, { in person } for XXXX. I told the gentleman that I did NOT own the home and was looking for prices at that time. He in turn told me in order to honor that estimate, I needed to sign it, which I did. This company turned around and sent a application { that neither myself nor my wife signed } to Wells Fargo and they approved a " Home Projects Card '' in both or our names for the paperwork the roofing company sent them. This home was the only one that we could afford at that time. People were paying XXXX - XXXX over list price which we could not afford. XXXX XXXX XXXX showed up to install the roof and over charged for materials they never used. The credit card had NOT been activated and was rejected by myself which the roofing company was not paid. I argued with Wells Fargo about the unauthorized application and they just ignored me and my attorney. The card was not activated until quite some time afterwards only due to the roofing company putting a lien on my home. They had to be paid before the lien was lifted. I have doc 's and paperwork. I asked Wells Fargo to rewrite the loan and remove the card because it destroyed my credit rating due to 98 % usage. This card and / account was not authorized by me.
