My mortgage was taken over by Fifth Third Bank. The notification process was incomplete. They did not provide clear verification that they were indeed the new mortgage processor so it looked like a scam. Once I verified they had bought my loan, the only way to pay the mortgage was to enroll in other services with their bank. They do not have adequate or informed customer service representatives. It is all automated which makes it appear like a scam. They claim that I missed payments, and send mailed statements saying I owe more money but their online system does not show the same balance as the mailed statements again making the process appear like a scam and very confusing. The inability to pay without using more services, the inconsistency in the paper and online statements has caused late fees to be assessed which need to be removed.
