XX/XX/XXXX I called TransUnion about my TransUnion CreditView credit score. The credit balance they had listed for me, and what determines my credit score, was incorrect. They said the credit balance on XX/XX/XXXX was {$3500.00}. I had paid that balance on XX/XX/XXXX. I called TransUnion to tell them their current credit balance was incorrect and told them what the XX/XX/XXXX credit balance was, which was {$14.00}. They took offense when I told them their current balance was incorrect. They insisted the current balance of {$3500.00} was not incorrect. Over and over we went about this with TransUnion taking offense when I said the current balance they had was incorrect. It was annoying to talk with the TransUnion agent due to her behavior and comments. I asked TransUnion where they got the {$3500.00} current balance from, and was told that was what my credit card company told them. I asked when they were told that was my current balance. TransUnion said they were told on XX/XX/XXXX by the credit card company. So that was that, and it appears TransUnion isn't going to do anything. XX/XX/XXXX I checked my credit score using XXXX. For XX/XX/XXXX XXXX had my credit balance at {$110.00}. This is correct as this was my balance on XX/XX/XXXX. Now these are apples and orange comparisons. XXXX 's XXXX credit history is up to date as it uses XXXX 's data. TransUnion 's XXXX credit history is supposedly based on XXXX data. Why I compared two credit agencies was to check if my credit card company was providing bad data. It appears not, as the XXXX data from the credit card company is correct. The problem appears to be with TransUnion, even though the TransUnion agent blamed the credit card company for the current balance number. TransUnion runs a credit score monthly and I get a notification when they do so. But TransUnion doesn't ask the credit card company monthly what the credit balance currently is? How can anyone trust TransUnion 's credit score? Is the credit card company- in this case XXXX - required to give out an accurate credit balance to TransUnion, or some sort of balance whenever XXXX feels like it? Shouldn't TransUnion have to listen to people who tell them about an inaccuracy in their credit history, and not blow off those people when they do so?
