Consumer Narrative
I was a victim in the Equifax security breach in which they were ordered to settle with those impacted. I have despite this not being my fault and yet affecting me in a major and negative way Equifax has the nerve to continue to delete my submittal for a lump sum payment. I have entered all the months and hours per month in which I feel I have been trying to regain my identity and life back. How is it legal for the to state you can get up to XXXX in a lump sum if you can prove you were trying to resolve how you were affected by a breach we weren't even aware of until recently? So now we have to go back to XXXX and proceed forward to look for receipts and calculate mileage we didn't even know we would need in the time frame of XXXX in order for us to be compensated for what was done to us. This world is insane. The proof should be when you enter your last name and last 7 of your social and it states you were impacted you should get your XXXX tax free with no hassle. However, I took the time more than once to enter in all the months and hours I feel I worked on trying to resolve this issue with the credit bureaus and provided a legal, honest and logical explanation of why it is insane for them to ask people they violated to provide evidence we didn't know we would need, all so they don't have to pay out in a lawsuit. So despite me having a file number when I enter it in the system to search now nothing comes up. So legally Equifax is ordered by law to pay the victims, comes up with a bogus way to determine how much they will pay, and then deletes your case number so you can't check the status of your claim so they don't have to pay you at all. This world is full of crooks in positions of authority and that is disgusting. I will not file that breach form again.
