This is XXXX intertwined issues. On XX/XX/22 i attempted to purchase a large item from XXXX ( where I used to live ) And I went over limit. I went back to pay off my balance, as Id been intending to and thought Id already done it. I opened the app. And on the app my Capital One card said this account has been restricted I was Surprised/thinking they must not have as sophisticated a system as, eg XXXX which sends me texts, etc when it thinks a purchase is fraudulent and asks if you are indeed the one making the transaction. ( Ie I guessed that they thought it was fraudulent because it was through a XXXX store ). But Capital One never got in touch. I thought it was strange. But I went ahead and paid off the balance as Id been intending ( the balance was from a major surgey ). And figured itd be back to normal in no time. And Several days later, Id had no contact from them and it still said the account restricted. So I called and was told : that they cant tell me anything about it. Not about why. Not about what happened. Not about whats being done right now. Nothing. Ive had a bank account with Capital One 360 checking account for years ( around a decade ) but only recently opened a credit card. Several days later, I posted on XXXX to capital One, asking if this behavior was normal/could someone please speak to me about it. I am, after all, a XXXX. And XXXX is a useful tool. ( And if something happens to me, I know usually its happening to others. ) That was XXXX days ago. Today, I went on to my app. Which normally shows XXXX accounts, the checking account with $ XXXX ( literally all of my money ) and the credit card account which Id paid off. And today, the checking account has simply disappeared. I logged onto my computer thinking maybe it was a mobile glitch. And it wasnt there. Ive never overdrafted. I dont ever use checks, so Ive never bounced a check. Was there identity theft? I have zero information. And at the moment Capital One has taken all of my money.
