Got into a car accident in XXXX of 2020. I ended up suing the person who hit me the result left me with a chunk of money that was split between me, my lawyer and the hospital. Before we settled with the hospital I called to see if they would bring down the amount they owed so I could pay them in full which they did and I ended up paying almost {$16000.00}. I received maybe one or 2 letters from the hospital saying I still owed money and when I called to try and verify it I never heard back. Now almost 3 years later this collection is own my credit report and to my knowledge it violates my hippa laws.
