I received no statement, phone call or email from the original creditor with regard to sending to a collection agency for collection. Further, my credit monitoring services showed no unpaid or outstanding amounts owed to anyone in the past year. In short, until the collection agency notified the credit bureaus of a collection, there was no prior communication or prior indication of a debt owed. How can you be responsible for not responding to a debt owed when no debt has been filed or claimed, nor notification by letter, email or phone has been received?
