A few months ago I began receiving letters and phone calls from Lien Enforcement , Inc. demanding payment of {$4000.00}. At first, I thought it was a simple scam, but after receiving another letter, I called to investigate. I was told that this debt is from XXXX XXXX, a towing company that claims to have towed and held a car I once owned. I informed Lien Enforcement , Inc. that I had sold the car the year before, therefore, I am neither the legal owner of the car or the debt. They asked for proof that I sold the car, but I have no written proof, as I submitted the pink slip form to DMV to remove ownership of the vehicle from my name. The representative from Lien Enforcement , Inc. informed me that they considered the debt mine and that they would use all means necessary to collect. On XX/XX/2023 I received a " final notice '' from Lien enforcement. I researched the company and found that they have a high complaint rate with this agency, so it appears that I'm not alone in being falsely accused by this company.
