there is an active online scam targeting job seekers like myself. While the scammers use different techniques and different social media tools, some common aspect of the scam is to offer a position and send a check to be deposited into the job seekers account. I was lay off from a job XX/XX/2023. Start searching for jobs continuously on XXXX. The scammer offer the job position as a XXXX XXXX XXXX working remotely. Paying XXXX XXXX as part time XXXX a or full time XXXX at your own. Excited and accept the offer and a check was sent for an amount of {$3200.00} to be deposit in my bank. Mobile deposit the check and got the funds XX/XX/2023. Use the funds to buy equipments for home setup to work at home. XXXX to an owner {$1000.00}. Then bought {$2000.00} money orders from postal office. Was instructed to send money orders to a business to get the equipment process and deliver. XXXX the money orders to the address given. Found out Monday XX/XX/2023 the deposit check was a scam forgery from the bank. I am so depressed that in such a vulnerable state and this happen. I have all emails from this scammers, all communications are documented for proof/evidence if needed from this report. I will provide all evidences for your reference if needed
