On XX/XX/XXXX I saw a 'collections ' on my credit report at XXXX XXXX for XXXX dollars from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX This was unrecognized charge. I filed a dispute with XXXX. XXXX stated that the results of the dispute showed it was legitimate. XX/XX/XXXX I contacted ProCollect debt collections. They confirmed this charge under my social security number, yet could not provide a name associated with the account. They also FAILED to provide me a debt verification letter. The {$130.00} debt was assigned XX/XX/XXXX and I have NEVER received a debt verification letter. Furthermore, XXXX XXXX XXXX, the employee I talked to at ProCollect, stated that the debt had already been paid but could not provide any details as to how or who paid it. This was not me. I am VERY concerned about identity theft and immediately requested on Procollect 's website a debt verification, as instructed by XXXX XXXX. It has been a week and they have not gotten back to me. I am filing this complaint because of ProCollect 's FAILURE to provide an initial verification letter when the debt first posted, so that I could dispute its validity, and filing this complaint because now they still are FAILING to provide debt verification when I am ready to report identity theft to the authorities.
