M & T bank merged with Peoples Bank last spring. Peoples Bank never charged people service fees- now M & T by default has moved former customers to this account and it incurs a monthly service charge if a minimum balance is not kept. There was improper notification of this, and it feels as though its an attempt to take money from clients deceptively in hopes they wont notice the withdrawal, a beach of fiduciary duty.
