I opened a capital one account 4 years ago and used the card XXXX time. After using the card I called the number on the back to make payment and was told I can not make payment because the account has been frozen for identity issues so the ask me to send a copy of my ID and a copy of my social security card and a piece of mail with my name and address preferably a bank statement or bill so I did all of the above and about XXXX months go by and I get contacted that my ID wasnt good enough because it was a pass port card and I needed a state ID and I told them that I was not paying to get a card that I do not need that a passport is federal and they said they would not except it. So another month goes by and I received a call from a lawyer saying my information has been compromised by the credit company capital one and I explained what had been going on with them not letting me pay my account and close it because of the stuff they put me through. The lawyer said he could take payment and clear everything up and remove any outstanding charges and interest and he did exactly that. But then I received a copy of my credit report and it shows capital one as being substantially late by 120 days. I sent them all the information I had and they took it down to 60 days late and its been making my XXXX XXXX go down every month since. Now its been 5 years and I have excellent credit with all my accounts and have never paid late or missed any payments but because capital one still shows for 7 years the I miss payment for 60 days late and it takes over XXXX points off my XXXX XXXX every month and I cant get my score to go above XXXX points after all this and it still affects me every month for XXXX more years and thats not fare. I tried to take care of this immediately and they wouldnt let me in because the account stayed frozen for 120 days. Thats how theyre keeping it on my credit report and thats not fair. Ive been XXXX years with excellent credit and they are destroying my credit report every month and I can not get my score to go up and its holding me from getting better credit.
