Consumer Narrative

I may have checked some boxes improperly to move forward to this page, but there were no clear choices for my specific complaint. My complaint is about the entire industry and how and what they report on. Case in point : I have run a business for over 45 years, recently retired, savings to live off of till Social Security is taken, home paid for and no debt, which is the goal in life isn't it. I choose to buy based on my ability to pay, not to run live my life in debt. Because of this I am being discriminated against by XXXX and other credit reporting companies by their reporting of information that is as they state " Hurting my Fico score ''. Example : On XXXX they state that I have an insufficient number of accounts that are currently being paid as agreed. To my knowledge I have no accounts complaining of non payment as agreed. They state that I only have XXXX accounts and that to be a FICO High Achiever I need an average of XXXX accounts being paid as agreed. I have no need for more accounts as I pay as I go. I think this is definitely discrimination against me and how I wish to live my life. If someone is going to report information about me, then I as a tax payer and consumer should have a say in what and how my personal information is reported, not some financial institution that wants to skew my information to suit their needs. My experience in running a business told me to stay away from clients who were overextended. A great example of this is my younger brother who for the last 20 years has carried credit card debt in excess of {$80000.00}, making the payment but being unable to get out from beneath its burden. His FICO score has always been much higher than mine as he is feeding the system. The bottom line is that I choose to not live a life of debt like most American and the US government and I feel I am being discriminated for it. Any information you have for me that explains otherwise would be greatly appreciated as this has been a bad taste in my mouth for 25 plus years, and now that I am semiretired I finally have time to voice my opinion about it. Too many accounts has driven our government to cause inflation, another tax on Americans, is haviong more accounts really a good thing? Thank You for your time
