On XX/XX/XXXX I shopped at XXXX for XXXX presents estimated around {$300.00}. I saw the advertisement posted within the store regarding " 10 % off TODAY, 5 % back in rewards. '' I wanted to avail the promoted discount so I went ahead and inquired about the rewards credit card. The cashier asked for my information, but eventually was not able to apply the discount. I was told the application is currently being reviewed and will be notified in writing within 30 days if I am approved. I was under the impression that the customer will immediately get the 10 % discount applied to the current purchase. The advertisement posted was misleading as it should have indicated that only when instantly approved, you'll get the 10 % discount. Besides, what's the poinXXXX of applying if you don't get the discount on that same day as advertised. I decided to decline and withdraw the application and called XXXX XXXX immediately after I exited the store. I was assured the application will not be processed. Despite declining and making the phone call, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX still went ahead and did a hard pull inquiry on my credit which is set to remain on my Experian credit report until XX/XX/XXXX. I contacted both Experian and XXXX XXXX today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and requested for this record to be removed but both said there's nothing they could do. I believe there's enough reason to remove the record on my credit report as it was a direct result of a misleading advertisement that falsely led me to believe I was going to get 10 % off if I applied for the rewards credit card.
