I received debt collection documents in early XXXX stating that I owed XXXX for a loan that was not mine. I responded to that debt and on XX/XX/2022 they sent me another letter with the same information with someone with the same name stating I owed them XXXX for debt. In late XXXX, I received a notice from XXXX XXXX XXXX stating I needed to respond to a lawsuit that has been filed against me for this debt that is not mine. I responded on XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX XXXX court with my personal information that would prove that this debt is not mine, last XXXX of social and date of birth. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX court sent me a trial date to attend for this frivolous debt. I never lived in XXXX and am a XXXX resident. The court date is set for XX/XX/XXXX I've XXXX hours away. I called Mariner Fiance on XX/XX/XXXX to let them know they have the wrong person and provided them with the last XXXX of my social and they still stated they are taking me to court after verifying the debt is not mine. They also admitted that this was a mix up but since their lawyers are now handling it there is nothing they can do which is not true. They can call then and tell them to drop the suit. This just sounds like they are hoping to don't show up so they can just collect on me. The lady who first answered just told me not to respond since they don't have my information.
