I received notice from a credit monitoring service that a new collection account was added to my credit file. I am not familiar with the creditor and have never been notified via USPS or email of such intent to collect on this supposed debt. I am concerned that no basic action of collection or notification took place prior to this collection account appearing on my credit-negatively affecting my credit score. I have asked the credit bureaus to dispute this information, on my behalf, however the dispute came back with results that said, " this account is verified by the company as being accurate '' and will remain on my credit. How is this possible when I was never notified of the intent to report to the credit agencies. THIS IS SO UNFAIR. My prayer for relief is that this account be removed, and the proper collection actions take place which allows myself and other consumers the chance to validate and/or pay this debt in the allowable timeframe my law. I was not given that option-now this collection account appears on all 3 of my credit reports negatively affecting my credit score and history.
