Consumer Narrative
Someone fraudulently used my Capital One card. After I became aware of the fraudulent charges I contacted Capital One. Capital One reversed the fraudulent charges, fees and interest in XX/XX/XXXX. Capital One corrected the account status except for the months of XXXX, XXXX and XXXX of XXXX. Capital one continues to report the account was XXXX, XXXX and 90 days late for those three months. Prior to the fraudulent activity on my account my balance was {$0.00}. After Capital One corrected my account in XX/XX/XXXX, my account balance went back to {$0.00}, I did not owe any money to Capital One for the months of XXXX, XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX, it was all fraudulent charges. I have sent three ( XXXX ) letters to Capital One attempting to get the reporting of XXXX, XXXX and XXXX of XXXX corrected along with credit bureau disputes. Capital One in every identical letter has refused to correct the reporting error. I called Capital One three ( 3 ) times about the matter and spent at least 4 hours on the phone in total. Two ( 2 ) times I was told it would be corrected. Then I would get another identical letter stating they were correctly reporting the status. On the most recent call, I spoke to XXXX I.D . XXXX a Senior Accounts Supervisor who told me that even though I did not owe the money shown on my statements for XXXX, XXXX and XXXX of XXXX, the reporting of 30, 60 and 90 days late would remain as I did owe the money even though it was a result of fraud and corrected in XX/XX/XXXX. She was extremely rude and was treating me like I a piece of XXXX. I am going XXXX XXXX crazy attempting to deal with Capital One. I was told by Capital One not to pay and was issued a new account and card yet Capital One wants to show I was late for XXXX, XXXX and XXXX of XXXX. Its crazy and like talking to a post when I call Capital One. As I previously stated, I spole to employees in the Credit Bureau Resolutions department twice and was told it would be resolved only to receive a letter in a few days telling me they are reporting it correctly. While speaking to XXXX in the Credit Bureau Resolutions dept., on XX/XX/XXXX, he said he understood the problem and said he would be offline for a minute or two to correct the error. After 5 minutes the line went dead. Please help
