To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to file a complaint against TransUnion credit reporting agency for violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and my privacy rights as a consumer. Specifically, TransUnion has failed to report my personal and account information with accuracy and fairness, in violation of U.S.C. 1681e ( b ), which requires credit reporting agencies to " follow reasonable procedures to assure maximum possible accuracy of the information concerning the individual about whom the report relates. '' Furthermore, TransUnion has allowed hundreds of promotional and account review inquiries to my account without my explicit written or oral consent, in violation of U.S.C. 1681b ( c ) ( 1 ), which states that credit reporting agencies may only furnish a consumer report for " permissible purposes. '' This affects my ability to utilize the banking system fairly and hinders the permissible purposes of consumer reports by law. Additionally, TransUnion has violated my privacy rights by allowing unauthorized access to my account information, in violation of U.S.C. 1681b ( a ) ( 3 ), which states that credit reporting agencies may only furnish a consumer report to " a person with a legitimate business need. '' The burden of proof is on TransUnion to provide the most accurate information, as stated in U.S.C. 1681i ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ). Therefore, in light of these violations, I am requesting the following actions be taken by TransUnion : Immediate deletion of multiple repetitive addresses reported, to my current legal address ( i.e., XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, IL XXXX ) Deletion of all outdated employment history being reported ( i.e., XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX ) Deletion of all unauthorized promotional inquiries and account review inquiries Deletion of any third-party supplemental information that violates my privacy rights by law I am also requesting that TransUnion take XXXX action to correct any other inaccuracies or violations of my privacy rights as a consumer, and to ensure that all future reporting of my personal and account information is done with accuracy, privacy, and fairness as per the U.S.C. 1681e ( b ) and U.S.C. 1681b ( c ) ( 1 ) Thank you for your attention to this matter.
