National Enterprise Systems called me on Friday XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX. I spoke with XXXX XXXX first. He informed me that he was calling on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX to collect on a debt in the amount of {$9900.00}. He said my account was in a pre-legal status and the company XXXX had already chosen an attorney in my area if I didnt pay the debt. I told him I couldnt pay the full amount but I could begin making payments. He said your account is currently in a Pre-legal status so you need to pay in full I said what if I dont pay in full? He said then we will refer your account back to XXXX XXXX and they will send it to the attorney they have already chosen. I explained to him I can not pay the full amount. He said well I could reduce it down to {$4500.00}. I said I dont have a large amount to pay. I can only make payments. He then put his alleged supervisor on the phone XXXX XXXX. He told me he could get it approved for {$3900.00}. I explained again I dont have a large amount. I can only make payments. He then told me he was looking at my credit report and he could see a XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX that had the availability balance on it. Im really not sure HOW he could see my credit report because I did not authorize him to run my credit at all to view my creditors. I told him that cars was my husbands and I couldnt use it. He then told me that the full balance is due and asked if I have anyone that could pay it? I said I might could call my parents. So I told him I would call him back. He was very insistent that I place him on hold and call my mom. I told him I couldnt do that. He said two more times. I then told him no and I would call him back. Finally I remembered receiving a letter stating the account XXXX was actually placed with a company called XXXX XXXX. So I called them and asked about this and they informed me XXXX does NOT have the authority to send my account to an attorney. So they lied to me about that. I called XXXX back and spoke with XXXX XXXX again and told him this and he played XXXX and acted like he never gave me that impression. Im sure if the recording was pulled it would be proven he did threaten an attorney when they dont have authority to do that since the account is technically owned by XXXX XXXX XXXX Im attaching the letter where they told me they could get me down to XXXX to pay.
