I had fraudulent transactions on my card that used to end in XXXX and now ends in XXXX. I was told that they could not mail me a new physical card because all card numbers were exhausted. I was then directed to the special handling team to get a new account number. I was read a disclosure and was specifically told that I would receive a new account number within that day on XX/XX/XXXX, even though I didn't. I was also told that there would be no hit to my credit report and everything would stay the same. MY reference number is XXXX. I still have not received the new account number, and i was furthermore told today that the current account ending in XXXX will close within 5 business days of putting the request for a new account number, even though the new account number can take up to XXXX busines days to process. So now I'm basically in a situation where I may not have an american express card for some time as one account is closed and the other is still being processed. this makes no sense.
