Hello, I am contacting you regarding Synovus bank. We have had issue after issue with them. We refinanced our loan on XXXX XXXX, 2022, and agreed that we would have a XXXX grace period for payments. They wanted a definite date. I told them the XXXX. Of the following month would work, so they were to move the payment forward to the XXXX. When we made a payment on XX/XX/XXXX, they sent us a finance charge for missed payment for XX/XX/2022, when we still did not have a loan with them. After numerous phone calls and emails, we resolved that problem in XXXX 2022. They also made us open an account in their bank in order to get the loan process going of XXXX. New current issue : When we refinanced, they provided a list of insurance requirements they wanted for the loan. Before signing the docs, it was fine, and we were ok. Then in XXXX, they contacted us to add flood insurance. Although we are not in a flood zone, I agreed as the cost was minimal. Then in XXXX, they contacted us again and requested we buy wind insurance. The cost is almost XXXX a year. I told them that we were not asked for this closing, and it is an additional cost as we have a concrete building. When costs come down, we would purchase the insurance and cancel the insurance policy they had taken out. This is a very deceptive practice. As if we had known this, we would have stayed with the old lender. I explained to them the state of Florida does not require wind insurance in loans. They are forcing us to buy insurance we were never told that was a requirement. If we had been aware of this, we would not have refinanced. We sent them a letter requesting to cancel the insurance and to wait as we would make an effort to find better-priced insurance with no response from them.
