Consumer Narrative
I can not find any exact choice that matches the issue I am having with this leaseholder. My leased car, a XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX was involved in a hit and run incident last month, in XXXX while parked in front of my home. It was fully insured as is required for a lease. Ideally, I should have had no issue with my insurance company and my claim but that is not the case. To my utter shock and disbelief my long time insurance company is denying my claim for damages which are considerable. of course I am in the midst of XXXX this but it is extremely difficult and it is possible that their decision will be upheld. It was my first time leasing a car. I was panicked and didn't know what to do. I reached out to Kia Finance at least three times and to the dealership. They want nothing to do with the situation. There is no support, no guidance of any kind yet I am expected to continue making my payments. I am paying for a rental car out of pocket as well as I did not have this type of coverage on my policy. There is absolutely nothing KIA finance or the dealership is offering to do for me. No loaner car, no rental reimbursement, yet I have to still make payments? How is this fair? I don't even own this car. It is not my fault that my insurance company is denying the claim. It is of course, something I am battling vehemently with them but I could very well lose. Then what? I owe Kia a car? Shouldn't KIA do something to help a customer fight this? They have no legal team that can advise or assist? They have an interest in this. This is their car. I don't ' own it. How is it fair that this is all on me? I am leasing it and making all my payments on time. In any other circumstance, I am in such good standing I should be and was already being approached on an early lease renewal which I was considering. How can this even happen? They have no responsibility at all in this? I did my part. I pay my lease monthly. I was insured for full coverage. I did everything I was supposed to do.
