Consumer Narrative
I filed a request to fix incorrect data on my credit report with TRANSUNION on XX/XX/XXXX because they were reporting 10 student loans accounts with XXXX as still open and with existing balances. This report was incorrect since all my pending student loans with XXXX had been transferred to another student loan servicer and should appear as transferred, closed, paid off and with {$0.00} balance. In fact, those student loans with XXXX were transferred by the Department of Education on XX/XX/XXXX when my application to the Public Service Forgiveness Program was approved. Subsequently those 10 student loan account transferred again to XXXX by the Department of Education on XX/XX/XXXX. The only part accurate from TRANSUNION is the report of those 10 student loan accounts currently with XXXX and their corresponding balances ( which are correct ). After my request to TRANSUNION to report accurately my student loan accounts with XXXX as closed, paid off, transferred and with {$0.00} balance, TRANSUNION did not fix the problem and I submitted a complaint on XX/XX/XXXX with CFPB about the issue. As a response TRANSUNION sent a letter stating that the documents, I had submitted did not match their standards and that their report was accurate. This was wrong since I had submitted the official document from XXXX demonstrating that the balance was {$0.00} and all the 10 student loan accounts had been transferred and paid off. I filed a second complaint with CFPB about this same issue on XX/XX/XXXX. This second time TRANSUNION fixed 7 of the 10 accounts of my student loans with XXXX but incorrectly left as open and with balances 3 of those 10 accounts but I was not able to access my credit report and see a repetition of the part of the initial mistake. When finally I saw my credit report, TRANSUNION was still reporting 3 of my student loans with XXXX as with a open and with a balance. On XX/XX/XXXX I filed again a request with TRANSUNION to correct their repeating error of reporting the remaining 3 student loan accounts with XXXX ( one with an initial balance of about {$20000.00} and the other 2 with an initial balance of about {$10000.00} each ) as open and with the incorrect balances of {$20000.00}, {$10000.00} and {$10000.00}, which are incorrect since there were transferred, paid off and should be {$0.00} balance as XX/XX/XXXX as proved by the documents I attached. In the XXXX loan verification letter attached you can see that all my student loans were paid off when transferred and all have a {$0.00} balance. Today, XX/XX/XXXX I received a response letter dated XX/XX/XXXX from TRANSUNION stating that these 3 student loans accounts with XXXX had been verified and reported as accurate. This is simply impossible and wrong that after several complaints and over 6 months TRANSUNION had not still addressed the problem and report accurately my student loans with XXXX. All my 10 initial student loan accounts with EdFinancial were transferred to another student loan servicer on XX/XX/XXXX by the Department of Education since my application to the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX was approved and all the 10 accounts with XXXX ( including the 3 student loan accounts still reported by TRANSUNION ) should appear as closed, paid off and with {$0.00} balance.
